Kitao Kuronuma (黒沼 喜多夫, Kuronuma Kitao) is the father of Sawako Kuronuma who is married to Youko Kuronuma.

Appearance []

Kitao is a short man with black hair and he wears black square-rimmed glasses.

He is seen wearing a different variety of clothes.

Personality[]

Kitao usually has a calm and cheerful personality, but he can also be very emotional and fretful. He often gets jealous when he sees his daughter Sawako Kuronuma go to events with her friends and make things for them and he is shown to be an overprotective father as seen when he learns of Sawako's new friends and boyfriend.

Kitao was initially intimated by Ayane Yano and Chizuru Yoshida's appearances, but he soon realizes that they are nice girls.

Relationships[]

Youko Kuronuma[]

Youko is Kitao's wife who are very close and seem deeply in love with each other, but Youko still seems to enjoy watching her husband have meltdowns when Sawako Kuronuma chooses to see her friends over spending holidays with the family.

Sawako Kuronuma[]

Sawako is Kitao's daughter and only child where they have a very close father-daughter bond. Even though Sawako going out more often with her friends and boyfriend pains him, he understands that Sawako is much happier than before and that she is growing up.

Shouta Kazehaya[]

Kazehaya is the boyfriend of Kitao's only daughter. When Sawako calls him to inform him that her boyfriend will come to dinner with them, Kitao became so nervous that he hung up without being able to say a word. On their first meeting he checks if Kazehaya is appropriate enough to be his daughter's boyfriend and tries to put him through various tests, asking him several times if he is serious about dating her, and making sure that he will behave and treasure his beloved daughter.

Slowly, he grows to accept him and states that he is a nice guy.

Etymology[]

  • The name Kitao means "joy" (喜) (ki), "many" (多) (ta) and "man, husband" (夫) (o).
    • The kanjis "喜多" means "frequent rejoicing".
    • Although the third kanji in his name "夫" means "man, husband", it's meaning can be ignored because in names, this kanji is added to make a name masculine.
  • Kitao's surname Kuronuma means "black" (黒) (kuro) and "swamp, pond, bog, lake" (沼) (numa).[1]
