Chapter 108 - I Told Him[]
Sawako is informed of an accident that left Shouta's mother in hospital. She ends up rushing over to Shouta's shop to hand over some leftovers to their family. Sawako is welcomed in, however, even in spite of Shouta's younger brother still getting the wrong impression of them. Shouta's father then appears, not impressed that his sons aren't cooking for themselves and had to hire Sawako. However, he lets Sawako stay behind to make miso soup for them. Shouta's father also doesn't seem happy that Sawako isn't having dinner with them, but when Shouta comes to her defense, he relents and gives her some dessert to eat instead. Sawako stays behind to play drums with Shouta's younger brother for a while. In the meantime, Shouta has one more conversation with his father about the future. He insists that his decision to study sports science at university is final, and that he'll think about taking over the shop after that. Shouta narrowly avoids a confrontation, and watches his father leave without a word. Later, while walking Sawako back home, Shouta tells her that he was able to tell his father what he wanted to do.
Chapter 109 - Shota[]
Shouta's mother is visited in hospital by her son and husband. Shouta's father admits that he has failed his son, but his wife says it's because he has been overprotective, and all this time, she worried more about her husband than her son. Sawako also visits, handing over a bouquet of flowers. Shouta's mother claims her husband would have been nicer if she had given birth to a girl. She also talks about Shouta's name and why his father chose it. When they walk home together, Sawako starts calling Shouta by his first name again, and wonders what's in the dresser his mother told him to look at. Shouta says he'll let Sawako know. Shouta soon gets to his room and finds out what's in said dresser - memories of his childhood, including various photo albums and report cards. Meanwhile, Shouta's mother finds an old box of unopened snacks that Shouta bought for his father but he never ate. Before disposing of them, she lets her husband take pictures of them. Finally, Shouta's father appears to his son in a Hawaiian shirt, much to the latter's amusement. He agrees to Shouta's decision to study at university, by telling him to move out and live by himself. Afterwards, Sawako hears about it on the phone to Shouta and is glad that he and his father are on the same page somewhere.
Chapter 110 - Always[]
Shouta and Sawako go on their second proper date, their first in more than a year. They visit an amusement park during one fall weekend. Included in the amusement park is a haunted mansion, in which Sawako will not play ghost, and for once, she is sufficiently scared. Shouta reacts by giving her a kiss. After asking a stranger to take a photo for them, Shouta and Sawako end their day out on the ferris wheel. There, Sawako finally tells Shouta about her decision to study at Hokkaido University of Education.
Chapter 111 - Spilled[]
Kurumi, Ayane, Sawako and Shouta have all improved on their mock exam results, while Ryu and Kento have also passed their preliminaries. As another Christmas approaches, the cast agree not to gather to celebrate due to their exams. However, Sawako and Shouta do agree to celebrate Christmas with each other at least, since it would mark a year since they kissed. Shouta also proposes holding hands, but without their gloves on this time. Their hands brave the cold for the short time they make contact. On another day, Ayane has another careers meeting with Pin, who is happy with his student's progress towards Tokyo University. Ayane suddenly starts asking about Pin's taste in women, and praises his teaching, though deep down denies that he will want her. When walking home with Chizuru and Sawako, Ayane asks why Chizuru confessed feelings for Ryu's brother even though he was about to marry someone else. Chizuru says that it's because Tohru was the first person she ever loved. Chizuru also claims Ayane is only asking because she has fallen for someone herself, to which Sawako asks if it is Pin. Out of complete embarrassment, Ayane starts to cry.

Author's Note[]
"When the season in the story is different from the season in reality, it's a little hard to express the feeling of that season. I guess it's easy to forget a season once it passes! Or maybe other people don't forget? Am I the only forgetful one? Anyway... the real seasons usually catch up to the season in the story pretty quickly. Ha ha ha..."
Trivia[]
- The back cover features Sawako with a pansy.[3] In the English publication, this design is on the book's spine.
