Chapter 96 - Present, Past and Future[]
Ayane and Kento encounter each other in school on another day, not long since their breakup. Kento awkwardly says that he made his decision to study interior design, and wishes Ayane the best for her exams. At lunch break, Ayane makes her way to the library, brushing Kento aside on the way out of the classroom, although Chizuru and Sawako agree that Ayane isn't avoiding Kento. Sawako then suddenly asks about Ryu, and Chizuru vaguely confirms that she's going out with him, to which Sawako happily congratulates. Chizuru then asks whether Sawako has been seeing Shouta. This makes Sawako recall that Shouta had been sleeping at his desk every morning before class. On the morning after this conversation, Sawako sits opposite the sleeping Shouta and starts to fall asleep too. Just then, Shouta starts to twitch, and once he opens his eyes, he freaks out having awkwardly touched Sawako. They get over the embarrassment as the rest of the class arrive, Joe in particular wearing a costume for the culture festival. Later on, Sawako gets changed into her costume as part of the day's rehearsals, and so does Ayane, although Ayane later drags Sawako away to the bathroom to swap costumes, and even puts glasses on Sawako. Shouta compliments Sawako on the costume, claiming that she's looking more like a teacher.
Afterwards, Ayane, Kurumi and Sawako receive their midterm results. Despite Ayane's failure, she claims she can only get better. Sawako and Kurumi have both improved, and vow to pass the exams and enter university together, though Kurumi gets the wrong idea after hearing that Sawako isn't going to the Hokkaido University of Education after all. Sawako sees Shouta after school, and Shouta is happy for Kurumi's situation, noting that Kurumi's traits were also traits he saw in Sawako. Shouta lets Sawako rest on his shoulder, and both eventually reminisce that it would be that time again, a year on from when they made their relationship official.
Chapter 97 - School Festival[]
Shouta and Sawako's last high-school cultural festival begins. They remember the day their relationship became official. Shouta then expresses his worries about the future of their relationship, even though on his assumption they would be going to the same university together. Their conversation becomes awkward to those happening to pass by, but they continue. Meanwhile, Ayane gives Pin his makeover for the festival, in which he cosplays as Count Dracula. Class 3-D altogether hold a haunted house attraction, with Sawako playing ghost once more. However, visitors take advantage of Sawako's role in order to tire her out. As a result, she doesn't make it back to her classroom and Shouta rushes out to find her. Once she is found, Shouta gives a hug.
Chapter 98 - Forever[]
Chizuru takes over the ghost role for her class haunted house attraction, only for Ryu to distract her with his presence from behind. Meanwhile, Shouta collapses from exhaustion having found Sawako. He is rushed to the infirmary, where the nurse encourages Sawako not to disturb while he's resting. When Pin hears about it, he assumes the caretaker role for Sawako, who he sends back to the haunted house. Shouta wakes up and returns to the classroom just as their attraction has been dismantled and the class are back in their uniforms. On the way back home, Sawako and Shouta apologize to each other over what happened earlier. But when Shouta returns home, his father is not happy, having heard from Pin what happened to his son. Pin had also played a prank on Shouta by scribbling on his forehead, which he later told Sawako about the next day.
Chapter 99 - Not a Dream[]
On the second day of the cultural festival, Chizuru shows up in her work uniform. Ryu shows up in a baseball kit and Kento shows up in just normal clothes. Ayane and Sawako show up in the costumes they agreed on two days prior. The festival ends with a parade, in which every participant lines up outside in an orderly manner. The school principal then announces the results, with Class 3-D's haunted mansion winning the best booth award, but coming seventh in terms of costumes, though they did receive a runner-up prize. During the afterparty, the class unanimously vote Sawako as the star of the show. Shouta proceeds to crown her with a tiara representing the title, and Sawako proceeds to give a speech. After the party disbands, Sawako pulls Shouta aside to finally agree to end the morning meetings. Shouta assumes it's because Sawako needs to study for her exams, and inadvertently fails to let Sawako speak, causing her to cry.

"My sofa was beginning to look worn out, so I bought a new cover. It fits perfectly! Now my parents will stop complaining about it. (I like my sofa! My living room is really small, so my sofa is tiny anyway)."
Trivia[]
- The back cover features Sawako with a bigleaf hydrangea.[3] In the English publication, this design is on the book's spine.
