Author's Note

"I've been so overwhelmed with drawing this manga that it's already volume 2. For Kimi ni Todoke, I asked the designer to experiment with the background color on covers. All of the versions they came up with were so pretty I had a really hard time choosing. The more I saw, the more I couldn't decide. After a lot of thought I finally went with the light blue for the first volume and pink for the second volume. Just choosing the color for one cover was overwhelming. I'm already looking forward to choosing the background color for volume 3."

Trivia

• The English publication mistakenly printed Ryu's height as 170 cm. In the Japanese edition he's listed as 179 cm.
• The back cover features Sawako with a Japanese water iris (Iris ensata). In the English publication, this design is on the book's spine.
