"Kimi ni Todoke" (きみにとどけ, lit. "reaching you") is the opening theme for Season 1 of the anime series, used from episode 01 to episode 25. The song is performed by Tomofumi Tanizawa.

The full version was released as Tanizawa's second major single Kimi ni Todoke 「きみにとどけ」 as track #1. The single contains 3 tracks in all.

Trivia

• The last scene of the opening, where Sawako and Kazehaya approach each other at the window, is based on the cover illustration of the first volumes of the Cobalt light novel series.
• In 2010, Tanizawa released the album Maboroshi Dokei 「まぼろし時計 meaning "phantom clock"」 which includes a mix of the opening theme called "Kimi ni Todoke (Noon Mix)" as track #1.
• A Korean-language cover was performed by 10cm for the South Korean dub and broadcast of the anime on Tooniverse in 2010.
