Kitahoro High School student Sawako Kuronuma (Mikako Tabe) has a creepy appearance, and because of that she is nicknamed "Sadako" by her classmates, but deep down she is a bright and caring girl. She cares a lot about others but can't express her feelings. Her personal motto is "Do a good deed once a day".
On the other hand, her classmate Shota Kazehaya (Haruma Miura), is an outgoing boy who is popular with all the students and especially the girls. He is even nice to Sawako, and this makes her respect and admire him. Kazehaya has special feelings for Sawako, because he sees beyond her looks, but he also keeps his feelings from her. With Kazehaya's help, Sawako begins to make friends, such as with Chizuru Yoshida and Ayane Yano.
Over time they experience many things together and a beautiful friendship is created. Later they will realize that there is something more than friendship between the two of them.
Music[]
The background music for the movie was composed by Gorō Yasukawa.
The movie's theme song is "Kimi ni Todoke" (君に届け) by flumpool. Not to be confused with the anime's first opening or second ending. Despite sharing the same name, flumpool's song is not a cover of either, and has different lyrics and a different melody.
