Eiji Akahoshi (赤星栄治 Akahoshi Eiji) is the co-star of Crazy for You and protagonist of the sequel to the Kimi ni Todoke, ~Unmei no Hito~.
Eiji is the cousin of Sawako Kuronuma. The two are quite close since they used to spend every year at the Obon and New Year's parties. He was an only child before until his younger sister was born a few years later.
In his past, he used to study at a boys-only school that was quite close to another girls-only school. For that reason, he used to go out with several students from that school. He fell madly in love with Sachi, which he could not overcome in its entirety until he began to have appointments with Ume Kurumizawa. He is currently agreeing on a meeting with his past high school classmates.
Appearance[]
Eiji is described as a pretty tall and handsome boy, he has fierce eyes that make him look like a bad boy but the truth is that he is quite kind. In his high school year, he was quite popular, so he earned several nicknames, including the king of dating. Today he is still quite popular, so bad rumors about him are still spreading. He doesn't usually smile due to this matter.
It gives off a cold aura if he is silent for a long time, something typical of Sawako's family.
Personality[]
In his high school years he used to be quite aggressive, his personality was quite close to the tsundere. He also used to be quite petty and arrogant, in addition to stingy. This was changed when he met Sachi Takamura. With her, he was gradually showing his true way of being, which is a very determined and persistent boy but also very understanding and kind to his peers.
Currently his personality has matured much more since the events of Crazy for You and he has managed to be a much calmer and less aggressive boy, although he has become much more assertive about what he wants. This has allowed him to firmly approach Ume who is very cautious of strangers.
Eiji also has a strong liking for the extravagant, even so he manages to look good in everything he uses even if he is considered distasteful.
Plot[]
Relationships[]
Ume Kurumizawa[]
At first Eiji was interested in Kurumi because he felt identified with her since the two share an unrequited love in his past. It took him little time to realize that Kurumi was similar to his ideal type since his tastes were closer to making fun of un-honest girls since he considers himself un-honest. At the beginning of the series, he asks Ume to go out. Kurumi is a quite fragile and pessimistic girl who agrees. Although she has great pride and self-esteem, this contradiction along with her little experience in love makes her fascinating so she begins to quickly develop feelings for her.
This pleasure has been present when because of an error he kisses Kurumi half asleep. This makes them distance themselves quickly, which makes him regret enormously since he was quite serious in terms of going out with her. Currently Sawako is the intermediary between the relationship of the two of them.
Sachi Takamura
His first love, Eiji became interested in Sachi in high school. His great determination regarding something that he considers impossible was in his beginnings what interested him in Sachi. Little by little he fell madly in love with her even though he knew that his feelings would not be reciprocated. After graduation, he decided to study in another prefecture, it is not yet clear if he did it only to distance himself from her.
Sachi currently still asks his friends about Eiji, since she considers him a close friend.
Currently, Kurumi thinks that Eiji's unrequited love is Akemi.
